The Joint Conference on Network around Juvenile Offenders (23.11.2005)
Estonian Ministry of Justice in cooperation with the Finnish Crime Prevention Council organised a joint conference. The conference was held on 15th of November 2005 in Tallinn. The conference addressed the topic of the cooperation network around the juvenile offenders.
The objectives of the conference were to:
- create the common understanding of the essence and necessity of the cooperation network around juvenile offenders;
- exchange of information and best practice;
- facilitate cooperation among the professionals and foster the establishment of cooperation networks.
The first part of the day focused on theoretical approach concerning the cooperation network and the overview from the researchers will be presented. The second part of the day focused more on the best practice and cases of effective cooperation networks will be introduced. During the conference the speakers from Estonia, Finland, Sweden and UK had opportunity to express and exchange their ideas, experiences.
The Joint Conference on Network around Juvenile Offenders brought together the professionals from Estonian and Finnish juvenile justice system (police, prosecutor office, courts, and probation service), child protection services, social services, educators, policy makers and researchers. There were approximately 180 participants.
